Hello, my name is Giorgi. I'm 21 years old and I'm from Georgia,Tbilisi. I spent 4 month in Craiova, Romania from November 2016 till March 2017. 

So Evs for me and I think for all of you are great chance and also the best thing, because EVS gives you a lot of skills, friends, opportunities to travel everywhere where you want, to make your dreams coming true, to see your favorite (and a lot of different from your homeland) country, religion and culture. All that after that will help you a lot in your life. I worked at penitentiary. My project name was “Restart” and we were six EVS volunteers from different countries. Our public events were: exhibition, intercultural event, flash mob, and EU travelling opportunities, let's do it Romania, blood donation. Also all of us had a possibility to join another events. And it was nice opportunity, new ideas, to learn something new, and of course to make a friendship. In December I was on arrival training, where I got more information about the EVS, Erasmus +, Cigna and general volunteering. Also we had meeting with Romanian National Agency of Erasmus + program where we had an opportunity to get to know more information about the international and local volunteering, also we discussed volunteer’s problems, and we've found the solving ways. But it was not all of it. In my case I had eight free days, which, I used and I had a trip around Romania.  I went for holidays and met new friends from on-arrival training. During the EVS time we were keeping in touch with each other and after that we gathered together in different cities. Well, about my communication during the EVS - it was only in English. I was speaking in English with everyone. Also, we did some desk during my EVS where was writing activities and a lot of things. EVS gave to me everything what you need for having THE BEST memories in your life and new friendships, to develop good intercultural communication skills, to gain learning experience how to be good team worker, to write some documents: (publications, reports etc.), to speak and improve English and of course to have fun, travel around the country and also EU countries.

ჩემი ივიესი იყო ოღხი თვით გათვალისწინებუკლი მაგრამ შემდეგ მოხდა რომ დამემ

ატა ერთი თვე, მაგრამ მანამდე მინდა რომ თავიდან დავიწყო ყველაფერი, 2016 წლის ზაფხულში მეგობრისგან შევიტყვე რომ რუმინეთში იყო მოხალისეობის პროგრამა, რომლითაც შემეძლო მენახა ახალი ქვეყანა და გამეცნო ახალი კულტურა, მეგობრები და თან დავხმარებოდი სხვასაც.

მოკლედ ვიტყვი ჩემი პროექტის შესახებ რომელიც იყო რუმინეთში, ქალაქ კრაიოვაში, პროექტი იყო პრობაციონერ ახალგაზრდებზე რომლებსაც დანაშაული ჰქონდათ ჩადენილი თვრამეტ წლამდე და მის შემდეგ იხდიდნენ სასჯელს, ჩვენ კი უნდა დაგვეგეგმა მათთან ერთად ღონისძიებები რომელთაგან ზოგი გულისხმობდა მათ ციხის გარეთ გაყვანას.

როდესაც მივდიოდი მოხალისედ მქონდა წარმოდგენები, მოლოდინები და შიშები, ვიცოდი რაღაც ინფორმაცია ჩემი მეგობრებისგან, რომლებიც ჩემამდე იყვნენ მოხალისედ. ოჯახის წევრებთან და მეგობრებთან დამშვიდობების შემდეგ დადგა გაფრენის დღე და ხანგრძლივი მგზავრობა სტამბოლის გავლით ბუქარესტამდე ფრენა და შემდეგ მატარებელი და ორი ქართველი გიორგი ჩავედით კრაიოვამდე, შევხვდით ჩვენს მასპიბძლებს.

მოხალისეობის განმავლობაში გავაუმჯობესე ჩემი უნარჩვევები, გავაუმჯობესე ინგლისური, შევძინე ახალი მეგობრები და ვიმოგზაურე 5 ქვეყანაში რუმინეთის ჩათვლით ჩემს ახალ მეგობრებთან ერთდ. მოგზაურობა ძალიან ბევრი, პირველად იყო ჩასვლიდან ერთ თვეში, რუმონეთის ნაცინალური დღეების პერიოდში ხუთ დღიანი ავტოსტოპი, რომლის დროსაც შემოვიაღეთ ნახევარი რუმინეთი, პიტეშტი, ბრაშოვი, ბრანის ციხესიმაგრე, იგივე დრაკულას სასახლე, სიგიშოარა, კლუჟი და სალინა ტურდა, მარილის გამოქვაბული.

შემდეგი კი იყო მოხალისეთათვის საუკეთესო ერთი კვირა On-Arrival Training. ახალი მეგობრები სხვა ქალაქებიდან და სხვა ქვეყნებიდანრომლის შემდეგაც კიდევ უბრო მდიდრდები ახალი კულტურების გაცნობით.

ტრეინინგის შემდეგ პროექტში დაბრუნებაც სახალისო იყო და სხვა ენთუზიაზმით დავიწყეთ საქმის კეთება და შესანიშნავი საახალწლო ღონისძიებაც გავაკეთეთ პრობაციონერ ახალგაზრდებთან ერთად. შემდეგ კი დადგა საახალწლო დასვენების დღეები რომელიც გაუვიწყარი დავიწყებული გახდა ჩემთვის, ბელგრადი დავიპყარით მოხალისეებმა, შემდეგ გავაგრძელეთ სკოპიეში, მაკედონიელ მეგობართან სადაც თავი ისე ვიგრძენი როგორც სახლში. შემდეგ კი ხანგრძლივი მგზავრობა უკან დასაბრუნებლად მე და ჩემი იტალიელი მეგობარი -15 გრადუსში და ქარში, თუმცა ჩვენ ეს შევძელით და მშვიდობით დავბრუნდით კრაიოვაში.

შემდეგ კი იყო მზადება ფლეშმობისთვის, რომელიც საბოლოოდ საკმაოდ კარგი გამოვიდა და მჯერა რომ ჩვენი ღონისძიებები ნამდვილად დაეხმარა ახალგაზრდებს სოციალურ ადაპტაციაში დარწმუნდნენ საკუთარ თავში და ნამდვილად ექნებათ ცხოვრების თავიდან დაწყების საშუალება. ამის შემდეგ კი თანდათან ახლოვდებოდა პროექტის ჩემი ნაწილის დასასრული, რომლის ბოლო ერთი თვე რომელიც ხანგრძლივი მეგონა და ძალიან მალე გავიდა დასრულდა ჩემთვის პროექტი თუმცა კი დღემდე მაქვს კონტაქტი ჩემს მეგობრებთან და დარწმუნებული ვარ ისევ შევხვდებით ერთმანეთს და მეც მჯერა რომ ისევ დავბრუნდები რუმინეთში .

Young volunteers are given the opportunity to contribute to the daily work of organisations dealing with youth information and policies, young people's personal and socio-educational development, civic engagement, social care, inclusion of disadvantaged, environment, non-formal education programmes, ICTs and media literacy, culture and creativity, development cooperation, etc.

A project can include between 1 and 30 volunteers who can do their voluntary service either individually or in group.

Nini and her 4 month EVS in Romania

My name is Nini Dolidzee and i spent 4 month in Craiova, Romania from July till November 2016. My hosting organisation was ANTER www.asociatiaanter.ro. Sending organisation - "Georgian Youth for Europe", www.gye.ge

Evs gives you many skills, friends, opportunities to travel and so on. My evs was in Romania. I’ve spend 4 months there. My project was about the youngsters, in penitentiary. I worked at detention centre. My project name was “Restart” and we were six EVS volunteers there. Beside of penitentiary I had a work at office too. We took part in different public events orfanised by organization and inside of penitentiary. Our public events were: exhibition, intercultural event, flash mob, EU travelling opportunities, let's do it Romania, blood donation and so on. Also all of us had a possibility to joined another events. And it was nice opportunity, because you can see another point of views, some other things to make, new ideas, to learn something new, and of course to make a friendship. But it was not all of it. I've improved my English skills and got lot of new friends. And that was great. Because out of our service tasks for us - volunteers - had an opportunity to travel.  Well, about my communication during the EVS - it was only in English. I was speaking in English with everyone.  With coordinators, friends,  with other people in any other places, for example, in magazines, in shops,  with my colleagues, in penitentiary and so on. Also, we did some paper work during my EVS. These writing activities, and also talking with everybody only in English improved my language skills. I took part in lot of events where I improved my knowledge how to communicate with other culture people. Also I improved my skills to make a slideshow and other presentations.

 So, finally, I want to say that EVS is something amazing in your life. It gives you everything what you need in your life – establishment of new friendships, to develop good intercultural communication skills, to gain learning experience how to be good team worker, to be social active by joining and organizing different events,  to write some documents (publications, reports etc), to speak and improve english and of course to have fun , travel around the country and so on. :) 

ჩემი ივიესი, იყო რუმინეთში 4 თვის განმავლობაში, მე ვმუშაობდი ბავშვთა გამოსასწორებელ ცენტრში (ციხეში). ამასგარდა,  ასევე ოფისშიც, და მის გარეთაც. მოხალისეებს გვქონდა უამრავი ღონისძიება, როგორც პეტენციალურში, ასევე მის გარეთაც გვქონდა შესაძლებლობა რომ ჩავრთოდით სხვადასხვა ღონისძიებებში, და გვესწავლა რაიმე ახალი. ყოველი კვირის ბოლოს ვწერდით სხვადასხვა დოკუმენტებს, რომლებიც გვეხმარებოდა რომ გაგვეუმჯობესებინა ინგლისური ენა. ზოგადად საკომუნიკაციოდ ვიყენებდით მხოლოდ ინგლისურ ენას. მეგორებთან, კოლეგებთან , მენტორეთან, საზოგადოებრივ დაწასებულებებში,  ასევე გამოსასწორებელ ცენტრში და ასე შემდეგ. ინგლისურისა და სხვადასხვა უნარების გაუმჯობესებაში ასევე ძალიან დამეხმარა, ერთ კვირიანი ტრენინგი, სადაც გავიცანი უამრავი მოხალისე, სხვადასხვა ქვეყნებიდან. მქონდა აქტიური კომუნიკაცია მათთან , ღონისძიებები. რომელთაგანაც ერთ-ერთი საკმაოდ დასამახსოვრებელი იყო ჩემთვის. როდესაც საკუთარი ქვეყანა წარმოვადგინეთ, ყველა ჩვენთანგანმა. ამასგარდა, იყო სხვადასხვა ღონისძიებები, რომელშიც აქტიურად ვერთვებოდი. გამოფენები, კულტურათაშორისი ღონისძიებები, პოსტერების გავრცელება, ნაგვიანი ადგილის დასუფთავება, ფლეშ მობი, ინტერვიუები, მოკლე მეტრაჟიანი ფილმების გადაღება და ასე შემდეგ. ამ ყველაფერთან ერთად საბედნიეროდ მოხალისეებს გქონდა თავისუფალი დროც, რომელსაც ჩვენი სურვილებისდა მიხედვით ვიყენებდით. მე პირადად როდესაც მომეცა საშუალება გამოვიყენე ჩემი რვა თავისუფალი დღე. და ვეწვიე საკმაოდ ცნობილ ადგილებს სხვადასხვა ქალაქებს. აქედან გამომდინარე,  შემიძლია ვთქვა,  რომ ივიესი ეს არის პროგრამა რომელიც გაძლევს საშუალებას, რომ დაეხმარო  ადამიანებს, ამავე დროს გაიმჯობესო სხვადასხვა უნარები, და რაღათქმა უნდა მოინახულო შენთვის საინტერესო ადგილები, გაერთო მეგობრებთან ერთად ,და ასე შემდეგ.

Bacho's 4 month EVS in Romania

Here is my EVS story in Georgian! 

ამ პროგრამამ მომცა საშუალება პირველად გავმგზავრებულიყავი უცხო ქვეყანაში და დამეწყო ცხოვრება სრულიად განსხვავებული ხალხის და კულტურის ადამიანებთან,რა თქმა უნდა ეს დიდი გამოწვევა იყო საკუთარის თავის წინაშე,რომელსაც არ შევუშინდი,თუ გინდა რაღაც ახალი შეიძინო და განვითარდე ეს აუცილებელი პირობაა.ჩასვლის პირველივე დღიდან ახალგაზრდებთან ერთად დავიწყე იქაური წესების და ტრადიციების შესწავლა,რადგან სხვა სოციუმთან ცხოვრება ამას მოითხოვს.რუმინელი ხალხი ძალიან მომეწონა,ისინი სულ მზად არიან დაგეხმარონ როცა ეს გჭირდება.

რაც შეეხება ჩემს თანაგუნდელებს,არ გაგვჭირვებია ერთმანეთთან დაახლოება,მთავარია პატივისცემა და იმის გააზრება რომ საერთო მიზნისთვის ვიყავითვ ჩამოსულები.ჩვენ ძალიან დავუახლოვდით ერთმანეთს და მეგობრებად ვიქეცით,ყოველი დღე რაღაც ახალს ვაკეთებდით,ვუზიარებდით იდეებს ერთმანეთს და კარგადაც ვერთობოდით.ერთად ბევრი აქიტვობა განვახორციელეთ სხვა პროექტის ახალგაზრდებთანაც,რომლებმა უფრო საინტერესო გახადეს იქ ყოფნა.

თავისუფალ დღეებში გადავწყვიტე მემოგზაურა რუმინეთის გარშემო და ძალიან ბევრი საინტერესო ადგილებიც ვნახე,რომელიც მუდამ მემახსოვრება.ამ დროს ძალიან ბევრს სწავლობ საკუთარი ფინანსების თუ დროის გადანაწილების შესახებ,რომელიც დამერწმუნეთ არასდროსაა საკმარისი როცა მოგზაურობ,საბოლოო ჯამში გავიცანი უამრავი ადგილობრივი ახალგაზრდებ, რომლებთანაც ურთერთობას ვაგრძელებ.ამ პროგრამამ მოცა საშუალება შემეძინა ახალი მეგობრები სხვადასხხვა ქვეყნებიდან და მიმეღო უდუდესი გამოცდილება მათთან თანაცხოვრებით.ყველას გირჩევთ ეს გამოცადოთ.

Sweet & Sour October in Georgia

                After my first hour spent in Georgia I asked myself one question “Sylwia! What the hell are you doing?” Listening to Polish disco-polo and sitting in a car with a crazy driver were  my first signs of a complete state of confusion that I have never experienced before…  but that was just  the beginning.

  The 7^th of November. One month passed and apparently I am still confused. Georgia has welcomed me with a tangle of excitement and helplessness. I am sure about one thing – I will never consider Georgia as a featureless country.  Crazy drivers, pomegranates trees, cows on the roads and these smiling and helpful people everywhere. I did not expect that  a Georgian traditional toast would make me cry. It did. That was my second day in Rustavi. All volunteers were invited to pick grapes from which the best Georgian wine is made of. Two hours of intensive work and then we sat together and then started my first supra. Khachapuri and Khinkali on the table and of course wine.  This specific order of toast is unique and its meaning is unforgettable. Appreciation of family, friends, our countries and every little thing is the beautiful reminder that we’re rich people and we should be grateful for this wealth in each moment of our lives.

  These sweet  memories from my first supra made be the biggest fan of this Georgian tradition. I hope that this is only the sweet beginning of my Georgian experience.  I can’t wait for more, but….  If only all of my Georgian impressions could have been so sweet….  Before my arrival to Georgia I had heard many stereotypes but I would rather use the word opinion about Georgian mentality. Thus far  I always try not to be a judgemental person so I said to myself that I just need to experience all of it on my cost.  It turned out that some of the rumours I have heard appear to be true. It seems that Georgia is running in completely different time zone than the rest of the world. No one is in hurry, everything can wait. Even, a deadline is like not a deadline. At first, it made me extremely frustrated. I wanted everything to move forward but I could not such a pace where people are always busy. Now, I have to admit – I do appreciate that. Thank you Georgians  for making me sit down, relax and think about matters that are essential in my life.  When I try to sum up this whole month in my memory I can see so many contradictions –my  lost wallet, broken leg and all of these little obstacles made me even stronger and more motivated to give my energy and effort, here in Georgia.
